Bianchi was founded in Milan, Italy, in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi. At the time, the bicycle industry was still in its infancy, and Edoardo had a vision of refining and improving the bicycle as a means of transport. He was one of the first to experiment with chain drives and smaller wheels, making bicycles more stable and easier to manoeuvre.
